anyone do WW with 20 points a day

Do you mind sharing some of your meal/snack ideas? I am in a rut and finding it hard to branch out and still stay on point. I try to save at least 10 points for dinner (since I prefer to eat at night) and save flex points for the weekend (because we eat out a lot then). I get at least 3 activity points a day but never officially use them because I know I underestimate some points during the day.

TIA!

Re: anyone do WW with 20 points a day

  • Yeah, I had 18 before I got pg this time.  My very favorite snack was Trader Joes black bean dip and carrots for 0 points.  The black bean dip was 0 points even when you double the serving size.  I also like 94% fat free popcorn/kettle corn which is 1 point and Fiber One bars which are 2 points.  And Skinny Cow for dessert is 2 points.

  • Oh and for meals I was a HUGE fan of the Hungry Girl cookbook.  There were a lot of great salad and lunch ideas for 3-5 points.
  • The dip is an excellent idea - I'll have to drop by Trader Joes this afternoon :) I don't think I could live on 18 points a day, seriously.

  • Some days it was really rough.  I had to have 0-1 point snacks between meals so I never felt very hungry or I would eat way too much at meals.
  • I get 20pts a day.  I have my 2pt coffee, 2pt banana, 1pt apple each morning.  I have major portion control problems so since the WW entrees are so cheap and tasty, I eat those so I just split up lunch and dinner between the entrees.

BUT, I don't always make those lunch and dinner entrees to equal my remaining points for the day because I want to eat in between.  I may even have for lunch sometimes a 2pt tomato sandwich.  Pepperidge Farm lite style whole wheat extra fiber, 2 slices, as much tomato and a tbsp of Kraft Olive Oil reduced fat mayo.  And with the tomato sandwich I will have 15 Nabisco Wheat Thin Fiber Selects Garden Veg crackers at 2pts so altogether the sandwich and crackers is a 4pt lunch and it's filling for me with a glass of water.

I eat WW carrot cake snacks at 1pt each, WW yogurt at 1pt each, WW ice cream (giant fudge bars) at 1pt each.  Kashi Oatmeal Rasin Flax cookies are 2pts each.  I have a zucchini bread recipe that is a hefty slice for 2pts each.

  • I have 21 pts a day and can't imagine having less. So I'm hoping to see some other ideas here too (like the Trader Joe's dip - I'll have to try that!)
  • I also make a good egg muffin type thing too.

    12 cup muffin pan

15oz southwest style egg beaters evenly distributed

8oz block of fat free cream cheese evenly split up

1 cup of fat free cheddar cheese evenly split up

    1tsp of fat free salsa

    1tsp grated parmesan

bake at 400 for about 15min or until the parmesan starts to brown

You don't even know your'e eating fat free stuff and each one is 1pt.  Two fill me up good.

  • I eat a 1/2 cup of fiber one cereal for 0 points with a 1/2 cup of skim milk for breakfast for total of 1 point.  This surprisingly holds me over until lunch.   I am a snack person , so I eat a ton of veggies and hummus dip,  weight watcher yogurts,  fiber one bars.   I also save most of my points for night,  so for lunch I eat smart one meals or a salad and turkey sandwich,  my bread is always the healthy life bread or the new sara lee 45 calorie bread.  I have had to cut out cheese on my sandwiches since once I got down to 20 pts.  It is tough.

Oh another snack I have found recently are TLC crackers, the small ones and laughing cow cheese.   the crackers are 3 pts for 15 of them!
