PT while in a crib?

I think DD will be ready to PT right around when she turns 2. My plan is to do it over xmas when I'm off work (25 months old).

However, I would like her to stay in her crib for as long as possible. But it is cruel to PT while in the crib? That would be forcing her to go in her diaper even if she doesn't want to?

We just had such trouble with my older dd transitioning to her toddler bed that I'd like to delay it as long as possible. My older dd was in a bed around 22 months, and PT'd at 29 months. She never wore a diaper at night once she was PT'd.

Both of my girls potty trained while still in the crib.  Believe me, if they have to go they will yell for you!

My kids were PT'd at 2.5 and in cribs until 3. They were PT overnight before they were moved to toddler beds, but we have a lock on the inside of their door since we have a 1.5 story home.  If they have to go, they call out for help (which has only happened a handful of times).

same as PP, B was pt'd at 2.4 and she was in her crib until 3. She'd yell for me when she needed to go.
