Reece for a boy?

Re: Reece for a boy?

  • This one's hard for me b/c our daughter's mn is reese...sorry I'm not much help!

  • I love it for a boy or girl, I do like the reese spelling better though.

  • I think it's become too associated with girls, I'd never use it for a boy now because it's pretty likely he'd have a girl Reese in his class at some point. ?Not cool for a guy.

I like Reid, similar but still definitely male.?

  • I have a 27 year old (male) cousin named Reese. He was captain of the football team and homecoming king. I think it is totally appropriate for either sex.
  • I love this name for both a boy and girl.  Boy I would spell it Rhys. I do think that it's more associated as a girl name now so I would not use it on a boy for that reason.

  • I think that name will go either go.  I've heard of Reese Witherspoon and then the one son on Malcolm in the Middle was named Reece.

  • I like Rhys. ?Reece is more of a female spelling.
  • I think it's become too much of a girl name, especially because of Reese Witherspoon.

I like the suggestion of Reid - similar, but much more masculine.

  • I have a male cousin whose name is Reese and I think it's a great name for a boy or girl.  Before Reese Whitherspoon came along, I had always associated the name with a boy.  If you like it, I say go for it.

  • i have a nephew born September 5, 2009 named Reese!  I love it!
  • I totally think of it as a girl's name.  In fact, we are considering it as a middle name for our baby girl.
  • I like it spelled Rhys, I think it implies boy. As long as you would be OK with a girl in his class having the same name.

  • Sorry, but I don't like it.
  • I still think of Reece as a boy's name.  I like it but it might be tough for a boy to have a name that girls his age have.

  • Reece is a great name. Its one of those that can be for a boy or girl. I'm leaning more for a boy than a girl. It sounds like a good strong name. Sounds handsome too!
  • I think that better be one TOUGH boy...
  • I like it.  I think it is all about association.  I have a friend that named her little boy Reiss, and he is adorable!  I say if you like it, go for it!
  • I have only known boys named reese/rhys, other than witherspoon of course.  It's not one of my fav names but to me i think it is more masculine
