gagging herself

My daughter has learned a new trick...sticking her entire hand in her mouth and making herself gag.  She likes to do this in the car.  And she made herself vomit.  If I ignore her, she continues, if I react she giggles with glee.  Help, what do I do?  How can i make it stop?!?  It's disgusting and disturbing!!  Oh, and it's not just in the car, she also did it in her stroller while in the mall.

Re: gagging herself

  • Ignore.  I think most kids go through this phase.  Ignoring makes it go away faster. :)

  • ditto pp ---- we went through the same thing.  thank goodness he hasn't done it in a while.
  • sigh, yes I know this is the answer.  I was hoping for a magical cure though :)

  • Our LO does the same thing and also made himself throw up in his carseat - luckily, we were close to home when it happened.  I also haven't found a way for him to stop -- he also giggles with delight when I tell him no.

  • Yup, we had a gagger too. He made himself throw up once and has only done it a handful of times since then. We tell him no and pull his hand out of his mouth and he seems bored with it now, thank goodness!

  • We have a huge problem with this. He has not only made himself vomit in the car but multiple times all over and down the side of the pnp. Drives me nutso. We have been pulling the hand out but perhaps we will try ignoring
