  • luckily i made it an entire year of pumping.

however there were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many times i wanted to throw the towel in.

Its hard work. its thankless, its tiring, etc.

but ya know what. for me. I am glad i did it. if you FF- no biggie.

but the one thing that saved me- when i was having a bad day of pumping. i said to myself. let me just MAKE it to the end of this week. if i still want to throw the towel in- so be it. by doing that- i met my goal.

hang in there- and be proud of whatever decision you make

  • As long as you feed your baby, you're doing good.  However, you can increase your milk supply if you want to continue BFing &/or pumping.  An LC can really help, and I'm sure there are some great tips on KellyMom.com.  You can also power pump while you're home, encourage your baby to nurse as much as possible, even if just for comfort, and let your LO just rest against your bare breasts.
You can also try some galactogogues: fennel and genugreek seed, usually in tea, Blessed Thistle, motherwort, nettle, red raspberry, borage, chamomile, even oatmeal (non-instant is supposed to work better).  Also, try these tasty treats:
