First, I'm so happy that JAck is helmet free adn that his head is looking good!:)
Carter is getting his on Monday! If I can figure out how I'll post a pic. I was boring adn just went with a blue one, haha.
Anyway, this is probably a stupid question but are you nervous about it getting flat again? I mean by the time Cart gets if off he should be sitting up, rolling, crawlign, etc. but what if he stills sleeps on that spot? Is is possible to get flat again? I plan on asking the dr. all these questions but you have a lot of info so just wanted to see your thoughts . Thanks! ![]()
Re: LucyP
TOTALLY nervous - although I've had been told it's not possible. Because - his skull is now considerably harder than it was when he was a younger baby - and because he no longer lays in one spot, laying on that flat spot, for any considerable length of time.
It's crazy though - I could see him sleeping last night in his "old" position - on his back (hasn't done that since he got the helmet and became a tummy sleeper) AND - with his head laying on the flat spot - well - where it USED to be. (Although to be honest, it's not perfectly round - just much improved. So I can still see where the flat spot was, even though it's not really there anymore if that makes sense.) BUT - he did eventually flop over on his tummy - so even if he sleeps in that spot sometimes - it shouldn't matter. It made me laugh though, thinking he was like "finally! my comfortable spot!" I don't think the helmet was comfy at all when he was on his back.
But of course I'm still nervous like a kook, trying not to be, trying not to stare at his head and think "did it get sort of flat looking in the 2 days he's been out of his helmet?" LOL!!
