tell me about cramps during first tri?

I've been having lots of different kinds of cramps, pulling sensations, and general twinges for the last week or so. I assume all of this is normal as everyone needs to make room in there? Can you describe your first tri cramps to me, and tell me if they ever went away?

Re: tell me about cramps during first tri?

  • I remember having them early on. I would get hot flashes along with it too. Three babies take up lots of room and for me I grew quickly.
  • I did IVF and was on prog. suppositories and injections for the first 9 wks or so...are you on a similar protocol? I had some irritation/bloating going on for the first tri which I think was due to mild ovarian enlargement. That dissipated by the end of the 1st tri.Perhaps you too are experiencing side effects from that (in regard to your cramping)?

The pulling/twinges I remember having as the PG progresses. I think that is common for a multiples pg.

HTH and hope you feel better soon!

yep, I'm on progesterone, so that could definitely be contributing to the cramping and bloating. I had OHSS a couple of weeks ago too. Fun times.

  • I had bad ones I totally thought I was getting my period and I was shocked when I got a BFP.  Hope yours pass soon.
  • as a fellow triplet mom told me, your uterus is v cranky and busy right now. all sorts of activity going on in there that it's not used to. they'll stop when it learns to calm down a bit. :) you're right at the point i had a little spotting too, which is scary but generally nothing major (mine was brown.)

ooh, good to know! I've had a teeny tiny amount of spotting a couple of days this week, usually right after I walk the dog. It doesn't last long and only happens at that time, so I figure the exercise has jostled something. I'm going to ask my RE about it though.

  • I had crazy cramping pretty much the whole time.  It was this constant stretching, achy feeling with occiasional sharp ones.  A little bit of brown spotting sometimes, too.  It made me so paranoid, but it is normal.
