We spent the weekend at the beach with family, but kept sunscreen on all the time. I noticed I was itchy over the weekend but assumed it was because of the heat and sun.
Well even today I am still itchy on my arms in the area of my elbows. There are tiny bumps that no one else would notice and it gets a little red if I scratch. One of the ladies I work with mentioned something about pregnancy rash. I had never even heard of it. I spoke to the nurse and she just said to put some cream on it or take an oatmeal bath, but not to be concerned.
Did anyone have a similar experience? Any suggestions of ways to soothe the itching. I realize there are lots of changes going on so I'm not surprised, but throught it was wierd it is effecting my arms only.
Re: Pregnancy rash
I broke out in eczema on my hand and a little on my eyelids. The rash on my hand started out as tiny itchy bumps and progressed to horrible scaly patches and I finally went to the dermatologist.
Your skin is more sensitive to everything when you're pregnant, and you're more likely to react to cosmetics, to get heat rash, etc. I would say for now you're fine to just follow the nurse's instructions, but if it gets worse or doesn't improve in a week, go see a dermatologist.
One of my books said something about this. If you are worried, talk to the dr.?
I think it is "normal" though. ?
I broke out in a rash around 12-13 weeks. It was around both my armpits on my arms. It itched bad. I asked my dr, and he told me that rashes like that do happen, and they are the least of my worries. I haven't gotten another one since. But I still don't know what caused it.
