I posted this on the BFing board but wanted your advice as well...
Also how are the kiddoes - besides as cute as ever?!!? How have B's ears been since the tubes? Is Sam still doing dance?
Repost:
I started back to work this week and have been having a lot of luck pumping. I've been pumping 2 times and have gotten almost twice the amount of BM as I've been bringing to DD's daycare. Normally she'd eat 2-3 times during that timeframe so I've been leaving 3 bottles (she's come home both days having drank 2.5).
However, her schedule is off now and she's been doing more "snacking" - one ounce here, two ounces there, so she's been eating maybe 4-5 times instead of 2-3. I'm thinking this will regulate itself as she gets used to her new environment but I'm worried that in the meantime I'm going to mess myself up by only pumping twice while at work. Is it safe to say that as long as I'm still pumping decent amounts in the 2 sessions that we'll be fine?
Re: Kori ~~ if you're around...
The kids are well and keeping us frazzled. Bryan has been PERFECT health-wise since tubes, and he is a much much happier child than he was, it's amazing. He's starting to talk a little, too. Sam hasn't done dance since last year, it was short term and it just wasn't her thing, even though she had requested it. For now she's not in anything.
Boobage - rock on with your bad self LOL Bryan did the snacking bit at daycare, too. He ate just enough to survive for a couple of months I think, then he attacked me when we got home. DH had to do dinner while I sat on the couch with the Feral Beastie.
Your body has gotten used to what time it usually needs to err, provide. If you don't pump later you could fall behind when she starts to get more efficient & drink more - you'll still be pumping the same amount while she takes more. It would probably be good to do a 3rd in there somewhere although admittedly I never did, and I did fall behind with both. I HATE pumping.
Leaking. Glam isn't it? If you're still getting up in the middle of the night you could pump then. I did that for a while- he fed on one side, I'd pump on the other. Every twitch & I was wide awake anyway, so even when he conked back out I'd pump.
Well no wonder you were so sleep deprived! You were up half the night pumping! LOL
I know I should pump more and will try to get a slot in our "mothers room" but it's pretty booked in the afternoon, plus she's been wanting to eat when I pick her up (same situation as yours) and I don't want to cut it too close to pick up time and have to give her a bottle of pumped milk when I could have just fed her.
Glad the kids are doing good. I'm finding that two is so much fun with seeing how they are alike and how they are different. I just love your pics! Do you know what they're going to be for Halloween this year?
I was up anyway, either feeding him or just up from hearing him - it only took 15minutes!! LOL
Sam found Spidergirl in the closet and wants to wear it again, it still fits, so we're going with it. I had already bought blue fabric for the blue cat she wanted to be, so I'm using it to do Superman for B. :-)
It is so cool seeing how different they are, it's amazing they both came out of me!!!
I hear ya. I'm just glad that this one seems to be MUCH, MUCH less intense than Mia was! As much as I love the girl and enjoy her energy, I don't think I could handle two Mia's!!
I doubt I'll start pumping at night only because Jilli seems to be working her way towards STTN and if she's not getting up, there's no way in HELL that I'll be getting up! Maybe I'll see how the rest of today and tomorrow goes and maybe next week I'll book a 3rd session at work. I can fit it and it might help me be more comfortable during the day. I just feel bad about work. I get in, pump, eat breakfast, use the bathroom, work maybe a half hour, eat lunch, pump, use the bathroom, get some coffee, work maybe another half hour, nest a whole bunch, etc. If I add another session to the schedule, I'm going to either be pumping, eating or using the bathroom for 90% of my day!
