I was a 38DD before my breast reduction. You won't need to go up from a 36 if your measurment just below the boobs didn't enlarge. I'd use a tape measure before you head out to have a better idea. There are some cute ones at VS but if you feel you'd only be using it for a few months then I'd save the money and get one from Walmart. They are almost as good, just don't have the same life span...they seem to die before VS. Just advice from a lurker from the GP board.
Thank you, This helps. Now If I can only find one that doesn't look like I borrowed it from Grandma....
Hey! As a DD pre-pregnancy this irritates me. I have many very pretty DD bras. Victoria's Secret carries all their sizes up to a DD.
I have looked at larger bras and have only found the nude color or plain white. But I haven't been to vs, so that is helpful. I know they have very pretty bras there. Thanks Ladies.
I would suggest as the pp said to go and get fitted. VS will do a free fitting for you and they also have bras that have no underwires. This was heavenly when I was pg with DS. Oh and I went from a 38C to a 40D/DD so it helps to get measured.
i've already gone from a 34C to a 34DD and my mom just bought me a couple new bras from dillards when she was here over the weekend. they might look grandma-ish but boy are they comfy. i got ones that aren't lined and the cups are kinda stretchy so there's a little room to grow and then just some cup liner things to hide the nips (that's what the sales lady suggested and so far i really like her suggestion)
The band shouldn't change. Often people change the band size because they don't know how to fit a bra. The band is simply the measurement under your boobs. Unless you gain wait there, it shouldn't change.
I'm already a 34 F....and my bras are too small. Not looking forward to finding new ones.
I'd suggest getting fitted. Your boobs and back will thank you for it, especially later in pregnancy.
I agreee with this wholeheartedly.
There is nothing more comfortable than a bra that fits properly. I already have DD's so I know that I am looking at more expensive bras once I end up having to purchase them.
If you don't mind my asking, where do you regularly shop for bras? I am also on the large side (as we have previously discussed) and I have no idea where to find a bigger bra.

Nordstrum. They are a bit pricey but worth it. Mine last a long time and are super comfortable.
Re: What comes after a D Cup?
DD
How you adjust the size up is really about your comfort....different bras fit differently, so you have to see what works for you.?

D, DD/E, DDD/F, DDDD/G, etc...
Generally if you go up a band you go down a cup size. So, you'd go from a 36D to a 38C.
I would go and get fit for a bra. My ribcage expanded considerably during my first and second trimesters. I went from a 32G to a 38H.

at this point i'm more about comfort than looks

Fredricks has some pretty ones too (and lets face it, their bras are totally made for big busts!).
