I had a tough time nursing DS since I have flat/inverted nipples and I have been reading that you can "prep" by wearing breast shells during pregnancy to draw out the nipple, just wondering if anyone had to do this and how the results were.
No, but I should have. Every LC and nurse that helped us with BF said I should have been told to - bummer. I wore them for a few weeks after DS was born and it helped.
I wore them in my third trimester and I think they helped. I continued to wear them after I had DD but my LC said I didn't need them anymore (this was about when DD was one month). Also because I was leaking like crazy and she said it was because the shells put pressure on the breast, which makes them leak. So IMO, I think it worked wearing them while pregnant.
