my cat died today during (bladder)surgery at the vet

awww, don't beat yourself up. I'm sure you were an excellent furmommy. I mean, your baby was in getting the help needed, right? That proves you loved and cared for it. If you didn't do well it'd be stuck in a wall with 50 other cats, like that crazy lady on Hoarders.

That's the hardest thing about loving animals, I think. My heart goes out to you- it's crushing to lose a baby, four legged or not.

Aww, I'm so sorry

I am a vet tech - it never gets easy to be there and see things like that happen. You're an awesome mommy for trying to help your little furbaby - so many people think "it's "only" an animal. *hug* I'm sure your kitty knew how much you loved him or her. I really hope your happy memories with kitty will give you some comfort during this horrible time. Hang in there :-)
