We need to kill a few hours in Williamsburg with a toddler. Does anyone have suggestions? DH hates shopping so the outdoor outlet mall is out of the question. Busch Gardens is too expensive to just kill two or three hours.

Re: What to do with toddler in Williamsburg
I haven't actually been there, but I've heard awesome things about the Wolf Trap Lodge, and depending what you do, it would be a FREE way to pass a bit of time!

I second DOG (Duke of Gloucester) St. You don't need a Colonial Williamsburg (CW) Pass to walk around CW. And you can go see all the outside things. There are gardens, outside the armory there is often a fair set up and people practicing rifles, depending on the time of day there is a fife and drum band. You can go into all the stores. Behind one of the taverns there is a little take-out place that has delicious molasses cookies. This would be my first choice. It's fun for the little ones to see all the people in costumes and you can buy them a colonial era toy to play on the street (no cars!).
I went to WM, the campus is fabulous, and there are a lot of open places to run around. The Muscarelle, the small art museum on campus, is pretty wonderful as well. If you walk on campus you can look for turtles in Crimm Dell. Go over the bridge, tour the Wren building, go down to Lake Matoaka for a walk in the woods.
There is also a park, aptly called President's Park, that has large busts of all the presidents. It would be fun for a toddler to run around. There is a fantastic playground, affectionately called Kidsburg, that is also a lot of fun. Unfortunately I don't know how to get to Kidsburg anymore, when they rerouted 199 and Strawberry Plains I lost all sense of direction in that area. Waller Mill Park has canoes to rent which can also be fun.
Yorktown has a great public beach on the York River that is a lot of fun to play in if you are game for a little drive.
You'll have a great time. I'm jealous. Williamsburg is one of my favorite places on Earth. I've pretty much convinced my DH we are going to reture there.
To build on Hey Jellisy's post (I'm also part of the Tribe Pride club and those were all great suggestions), go to the Cheese Shop on DOG street. So. Good.
I really want to go visit now. :-)
