Do you expect friends toyroom to be clean?

We are having a football party Sunday.  We invited family and I invited my Moms Club friends.  We are probably looking at 6-10 family kids under 10 and 6+ friends kids under 6.  With good weather the kids will be outside all day....

but would you expect their toyroom to be clean?

Stuff off the floor, but not overly tidy?

Perfectly clean?

I have no energy and don't want to put ANY into it knowing that the room will be trashed by Sunday night.

Re: Do you expect friends toyroom to be clean?

  • you mean clean before 12 kids come?????

No, I wouldn't be too concerned.  Although, I would make sure they were able to play in there and see what choices they have to play with.

  • I don't "expect" anything from my friends or other's houses, but if it were my house, I would have the playroom cleaned. That is just me though. I can be anal like that.

  • I was thinking picked up and half way sorted - does that work?

MY kids destroy it quickly after it is clean let alone having a dozen extras here.

  • I would have it straightened and would have sprayed the toys with lysol. my house is always CLEAN, but generally only straightened up...rarely ever "perfect" though. that's nearly impossible with a toddler! ;)

  • I have a toy bin  thing so 'clean' is that everything is in A bucket in there.  Sorted is never going to happen!

  • I always think that I should have the car/trucks together and the balls together since our toy room is ver feminine with dolls and a kitchen.

    Here's a pic when DD1 was only 2!  It was clean then!!!image

I do the the exact same thing. All balls go together, all cars/trucks go together (except now because we have so many, I have to put larger cars together and smaller cars together), all books together, all puzzles together, all figurines together, all misc. together, etc. etc.

    I told you I was anal...lol.

I am the same way everything has it's place & DS knows where they go

I do not expect my friends (especially those with more than one child) to have their playrooms clen.

I on the other hand must have ours clean for parties

I also take out a lot of toys that I know make huge messes like blocks, etc.

We had a BBQ this weekend & it rained so the kids were in the playroom. I had to go in & straighten several times .. because I am anal :OI & I hate watching them try to walk on toys

  • Disclaimer:  The toy room is a mess from DH watching our kids with a neighbor and his 2 kids while us ladies had a freezer cooking night upstairs.  He threw the baby play mat on top of the pile, just threw everything in the room.

I was so annoyed!  He did dishes for me this afternoon though since I almost puked doing them this morning!
