ok so I am really confused and my pedi, is no help, my boy will turn 2 months on Friday, and instead of eating 4 ounces in a feeding , He eats a four ounce bottle then like an hour or two later seems really hungry and eats two more ounces, this cycle repeats itself every three hours. The doctor said not to give him more between feedings, that if he is hungry he will eat more in one single feeding (for example take in 5-6 ounces in one sitting) and that i hsould give him water in between feedings to fill him up if he is hungry, not more formula. well......recently he has been taking a four ounce bottle then an hour or two later drinking up to 3 ounces of formula only to polish off another 4 ounce bottle inanother hour.
I think if he is hungry he should be allowed to eat between feedings, why should he have to finish it all in one sitting? That sounds dumb to me. Then I got my mom teling me to put a 1/8 of a teaspoon onf rice cereal in his bottle at night to keep him full. I dont know what to do!! I dont agre with the pediatritian at all, my baby is definitley hungry. but it seems I am feeding him more often now, instead of every 3 hours, its like every hour and a half or so.Becuase 4 ounces doesnt seem to stay with him very long.Any advice here? Thanks.
