Re: Formula help? please

  • A friend JUST went through this exact thing with her DD.  When she was 6 weeks old she got put on Zantac and the formula still made her sick.  She switched to Enfamil GentleEase and Dr. Brown's Bottles and it cleared right up!

    Give it a try!!  GL!

  • I am so sorry - we have been going through formula changes with our pedi and it has been awful, so I totally sympathize. I wish I had some good advice, but I do hope things get better for you and your DD soon!
  • Talk to your dr about switching again.  Target has a generic version of enfamil gentlease (it's their up & up brand) that I've used with great success for both DD and DS.  It's partially broken down like GoodStart but has less lactose.  You may need to switch around a bit and see what works (some gals have had great success with nutramigen).  GL!!!

  • Sounds like lactose intolerance and/or reflux.

DS went through that...we put him on enfamil gentlease and used dr brown/avent bottles..He did start taking pepcid and it has helped a lot.

  • My daughter was on Parent's Choice Gentle but spit up all the time.  She would SCREAM at night.  We started thinking it was colic but it just seemed like her stomach hurt and she was so gassy.  We starting switching formulas...we found Similac R.S.  It has Rice Starch in it and is milk based but lactose free and a lot thicker.  She is keeping it down and is a different baby - it is wonderful!
