??? for Thomas lovers

My nephew is going to be 2 and is in love with Thomas. My sister and BIL are slowly working on a collection for him. He has a few engines and the starter track set.

His birthday is coming and I am torn about getting him tracks or an engine. Due to my budget lockdown, I can't do both.

Which would your DC rather get?

My kids would prefer engines, but, keep in mind that they already have a very extensive track collection thanks to my oldest DS who was Thomas obsessed.

engines. I have track and engines.my son plays with the engines more than the track.

We are just starting a collection and DS is not obsessed but how about a destination, a set of signs and Sir Topham Hatt or cars that are not trains for the set?  I am thinking these are the things they are less likely to have a lot of.  Maybe one train and one destination?

Ditto the pp's.  Engines.  DD really likes her tracks, too, but she's super pumped every time she gets a new engine.

Mine gets more excited about the track accessories. ?Last year while potty training, the railroad crossing was his prize for filling up the sticker chart, and he was thrilled with it.?
