do you remember watching presidents speeches in school? 

I remember holding elections and debates in 5th or 6th grade (bush #1 1st election) and watching inaugurations... definitely remember Clinton's inauguration... and watching speeches... and being required to watch the state of the union to discuss the next day or even write a report on it....   and I remember watching the space shuttle challenger disaster in school .  I wonder if parents were up in arms about any of these things?

But when I was in 7th or 8th grade, the teacher brought in a TV so we could see part of the Gulf War when it was first televised.
