Where do you all buy your LO's books? I don't want to spend a crazy amount of money so I was wondering where you all go? Are there any Half Priced Books stores in NOVA?
I go to Amazon mostly, because kids books are so cheap even when they're full priced. However, I've found some real bargains (for popular books too, not weird ones you've never heard of) at Marshall's and at BJ's.
Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.
I've found some at consignment shops for decent prices. Half.com can also be good. I also use a website called Paperbackswap.com where you can swap books with other members. If you are interested in joining, let me know so I can refer you.
See my post below about a consignment sale next week. I've had terrific luck with books from consignment sales. I think in March I bought my girls about 20 books for under $20.
I often get books from library, mostly b/c I get tired of reading the same ones.
I don't think I've bought any actually and DD has a ton of books. We got a few as gifts and I received a lot off freecycle. Our group is very generous. Some of them DD is too young for and she's now at an age where I can only let her handle the board books but I hope she'll read and love all of them.
Yard sales might be another good place; IMO books don't have to be brand new to be special.
Consignment and yard sales are where we get the majority of our books. How can you beat books for a quarter? I second Marshalls and their ilk. I find a lot of popular baby books there at great prices. We've also gotten quite a few good deals at Borders on their clearance tables. Most aren't titles I know but they are pop up or lift the flap and I know DD will love them one day.
I was in Home Goods a few weeks ago and they had a bunch of really cheap books in the children's section--who knew? I got 5 books and they were all only about $2 or $3.
