can I give him finger foods yet?

DS' got 4 teeth and he has done really well with solids. He even ate small chunks of banana yesterday when we were at the beach.

I know that I started DD on finger foods way later than 7 1/2 months which is what DS is but that's not too early right?

    both of my girls were on finger food only by 9mon..its not to early..

    Tristan started solid table food at about that age. He wanted nothing to do with baby food after that.

    my dd was on finger foods only by 9 mos old so I dont think its to early.

    I don't think so...do you give him cheerios and stuff yet?  Lila eats cheerios, puffs, little chunks of bananna, rice (like the regular rice, not the cereal, whole peas, cut up green beans....so I think that is kind of what you are talking about?

    Alright, good! I just don't remember the recommended timing of everything. With DD, I was so by the book and I don't have time to open a book now that I have two. :)

    He's definitely interested so we'll give it a go. 

    And Lucy, yeah no cheerios yet even!

    And when I said "I don't think so" I meant I don't think it's too early :) I re read that and I didn't even make sense to myself ;)

    I don't know what "the book" says but my ped told me at my six month I could start cheerios and puffs and stuff, whole peas...stuff like that :)  I don't have time for any books either!  Oh and fwiw Lila has no teeth yet and does fine on all that stuff...Sounds like Owen could try steak!

    I don't do purees at all.  I go straight to finger foods at 6 mos.

    You bet.  Our little boys are almost the same age.  My guy has been eating whole foods for a while now.  Last night he had pork tenderloin.  He eats all sorts of soft fruits, vegetables, fish, meat...whatever.  I still give him purees, but he seems disappointed with them and is always reaching for the regular foods.  Makes me nervous though: choking is my nightmare!

     

    BTW: your children are gorgeous!
