Hi All!
I am returning to work next week since being laid off in January. I have DS enrolled in a daycare and, as you know, they require that everything is labeled. DS was in an in home daycare before and I didn't have to label anything so this is new to me.
Can any of you give me tips/ideas on what works best to label your kids' cups, clothes, etc? I thought of buying a label maker, but I am not sure how the labels would hold up to multiple washings, etc. I am at a loss as what way works best...
Thanks!
Re: How to Label Items for Daycare
i tried tape and a label marker. tape was annoying and the marker didnt work well. here's what I use
www.inchbug.com for bottles
www.namebubbles.com for clothes, bowls, spoons, lids, etc (they have laundry safe and dishwasher safe)
I second the inchbug labels. I use them at home all the time for my girls sippy/straw cups.
As for clothes, I simple use a Sharpie marker and write on the tag.
ditto. i love mabels labels. they have stayed on her bottles for 4 months now being washed almost every day.
Ditto. We use both InchBug and NameBubbles.
For bottles I use a labelmaker. The labels stay on through daily washings for about 2-4 months. That's good enough for me. I label the bottle, the ring and the cap.
At first I labeled all DSs clothes then that was a pain with him growing out of things so quickly, and I realized he wouldn't be taking his own clothes off so the chance of something getting lost was pretty slim. I used iron-on labels that I made myself. Bought the iron-on paper at Target for about $7 and printed a page with our last name written about 100 times.
To label his blankets and the occasional sweatshirt, I use a sharpie on the label.
Also, I found that daycare liked to have first name on label - I labeled some stuff with just our last name (anticipating future children) and daycare used a sharpie to write over it with DS first name.
