With being pregnant/giving birth and moving, I've completely put some things off. One of those things being making my daughter some friends.
She's 3 now and she's VERY social. She craves friendship.
I've tried nearby reputable preschools. They are all full.
I've tried meetup.com. They are all private and/or not accepting new members.
Help! How can I make some good, solid friends for my Alice?
Re: Help!
Have you looked into local parks & recreation activities? A lot of them are geared toward younger kids, definitely kids her age.
We had a lot of luck with Portland Parks and Recreation when Eli was little.
P&R would be my suggestion, too. Swimming lessons, art classes, etc. Team sports and girl scouts would be good, but I don't know if those are options for 3 year-olds. And maybe just hanging around parks? The weather is turning, but I think OMSI has an indoor park, and maybe there is another closer.
So not a helpful reply, but I really just wanted to say CONGRATS on the new baby!!! I hope the birth went smoothly and Cash is treating you well.
Have you posted a picture of that baby yet??
What about something like Gymborie?
I completely know how you feel. If Tre doesn't have some friend time during the day we have a very difficult day and he'll start asking for "fends"! Again, I have no idea what the Mom's club's are like out there, but the Forest Grove one is SUPER duper active! We have an activity every single day and next month we start our regular in home play groups. Here's the link, there are three chapters in Vancouver alone, perhaps you could try to see if one is better than another and withhold your exact location??? They can be sort of strict sometimes.

That's crazy that the meetup.com groups aren't accepting any more members! I have never had that happen. Do you have anything like Munchkin Playland in Vancouver? Lots of Mom's out here go there and I think we're going to start taking Tre to some Gymboree classes. Also if he hospitals have any Mommy groups, those are fun, we go to one at Tuality in Hillsboro and I really like it. Good Luck!
