Help me choose a pump!

I'm going back to work in about 4 weeks and it looks like BFing is going to work out so now I need a double electric.  I've been using a manual pump for the last couple of weeks to help build a freezer supply.

I'm looking at the Medela PISA vs Ameda Purely Yours.  I'm also looking hard at the Ameda Purely Yours Ultra.  Please share your opinions.  Right now I'm leaning towards Ameda, so if you have either one please share pros and cons.  Is the Ultra worth the extra $100?

TIA

Re: Help me choose a pump!

  • I just bought the Medela PISA, I have been using Medela manual pump....It is AWESOME!!!!  I was sooo tired of my stupid manual pump.  The PISA just sucks away and pumps out your milk in about 5 minutes without any lost of suction or repositioning.  I love it, I did not look into the Ameda because I heard such great reviews of the Medela pumps.  GL :)

LOVE my Medela Pump in Style!

I have the Medela Pump in Style (PIS) and the Pump in Style Advance (PISA) and I like the original PIS better but both are costly.

My favorite is still the Medela Symphany that they gave me to use at the hospital

  • I used a old Medela Pump in Style for the for the first 5 months I was breastfeeding.  It was okay at first, and better before I went back to work.  However, since I have gone back, it seems like my supply is an issue... I finally realized I needed to put the money into a new pump and bought a freestyle.  It is already helping.
