?Congrats on another week of pumping! Sorry for missing last week- I was on vacation. I've now flown with BM multiple times so let me know if you have any questions.QOTW on behalf of my recent trip: Any odd ?locations that you've pumped in?I've now pumped in 3 airports (twice in the VIP lounge and once in the bathroom in the handicapped stall on the floor)!Please feel free to keep updating with your current EP status so that I can keep this list current! Hi, I would like to join if I can...I have been EPing since 4/7/09 for my preemie, Dawson. We are trying to get him to nurse without much luck, so it looks as if I will be continuing to pump.

QOTW: Mostly in my car, riding in the backseat, parked in a movie theater,  in a Dr.'s office parking lot etc etc. 

things are going well I guess, my supply has dropped some since DS came home from the NICU (3 weeks) just because I have a lot less time to pump. Working on getting it back up there, and getting DS to latch. 

Rants; I hate nursing a machine, around the clock, and being locked in a room pumping while things are going on elsewhere. 

Raves: I love that it takes me 20 mins, wham-bam-thank you maam to pump and go about my business, where BFing takes anywhere from 40 mins to an hour now.

Hello ~

I'm new here.  Been EP for about 2.5 months now.  LO will be 3 months on Wed.  Nursing did not go so well for us, so I turned to EP.  It is a lot of work, but I'm just happy to be able to supply her with BM.  My ultimate goal is to make it at least a year, but I'm really just happy to hit a quarter of a year this week.  

 

QOTW:  I'm a SAHM, so my only odd location is the car.  We have a road trip to DH's parents coming up in a few weeks and I wanted to give it a try before hand to make sure it was doable.  I just slip on my nursing cover and hope no one really knows what's going on under the cover!   

 

I'll watch for check-ins each Monday.

Oh yay! I have not seen this group before but I am so glad it is here!!!

Xander was born small (just under 5 lbs) and they wanted to closely monitor how much he was eating, so in the hospital they asked me not to BF. We tried when we got home, but he never caught on. I go from loving pumping to hating it!

Raves: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that DH, mothers, or anyone can feed him!! I love that if he feels like grazing (which he has in the past week), I don't have to keep popping him on my breast - I can just give him more of his bottle! And... (ready for flames...) I love that pumping gives me 20 minutes to myself that I can read, play DS, or just stare out the window and recharge.

Rants: I'm sad that I don't have that special bond with DS that I feel that BF would bring. It's also such a pain in the a$$ to have all the stuff to wash, store BM (and deal with bringing it with us and making sure it stays cold when we go out) and so on.This weekend, FIL left the BM I brought over out (he said he would put it in the fridge) and it all ended up spoiling.

QOTW: I have only pumped at home so far, but I just bought a Harmony, so I am looking forward to pumping in all sorts of places... just as soon as I have enough of a life to leave the house!!!

QOTW: In the car while on the highway. As a passenger, though, not the driver!

Rant: Hannah sleeps 8-11 hours per night and I sleep 6.5-7 because I need to pump. It could be worse though!

Rave: I'm down to 6 pumps/day. This means I only freeze about 6 oz every couple days instead of 10-12 oz per day. But cutting out a pump made life easier so there you go. And I'm halfway to my goal of pumping until 6 months so that's a nice milestone!

Could I join too? Keegan was born 8-28-09 and he has a cleft lip/palate. So I pump to give him BM.

Rants: I wanted to BF so badly, but sadly it will not work for us. I hate only being able to leave the house for 3-4 hrs before I start to hurt. I hate the constant cleaning and storing.My first pumping goal is to make it to 6 weeks and I already almost quit once.

Raves: I am able to give my son what he needs. My FI can feed him too.

 QOTW: I have only pumped at home an in the car.

Add me please!  I've been EP since he was born b/c he's a "flow baby" (gets angry if nothing comes out right away and doesn't try to latch) and has a painful compression latch.  Nursing has been a challenge and I keep trying occassionally but it's painful and we've been through damaged nipples and yeast.  So, the best solution for us has been EP, it takes longer but can be very beneficial!

Just popping in to say hey!  Made it through my first vacation with the pump.  Went out of town with DH's whole family for 3 days.  There were a few times that I had to say "Go on ahead, I have to pump.  I'll catch up with you" but otherwise it went OK.

Can you please add me.  As with DS, DD just couldn't latch on and after a few days of bleeding down the front of myself, I decided to stop torturing myself and start pumping.  I feel like I'm better prepared than I was last time and am determined to make it longer than 2months, like I did with DS.  I've decided to set short-term goals for myself, the first one being making it to a month to evaluate my plan.  If things go well, I'll try my best to make it to 12 weeks when, hopefully, my supply will be pretty much set.  However, every one day is a success.

I haven't pumped in many odd places. Mainly just in my car if we're out in public. A lot of peoples houses, sometimes an odd request! "Hey, can I go sit in a bedroom for 20 minutes while I pump??" LOL.

Logan will be 5 months next week, and I think I'm going to start weaning. I return to work Oct. 1 and he will be 5 1/2 months. I was hoping to go to 6 months, but the difference of 2 weeks doesn't seem like it's worth the hassel of pumping at work so I hope to be done pumping completely when he's 5 1/2 months, and use my freezer stash to get him through 6 months. I'm happy about my decision and making it this far!!
