Angelcare AND video monitor??

I am starting to have heart palpitations about putting LO in his crib. We have to do it a bit early because he is so big!  I think I am going to get the angelcare, but I would looooove one that has a video too....anyone ever heard of this?  TIA!!

Re: Angelcare AND video monitor??

  • I WISH!!! You would think they would this isn't some crazy idea!!! I have 2 different monitors, the anglecare and the summer video pan and zoom.  I actually feel better with her in her crib than in my room, don't worry :)

  • We are about to move DD into her crib too. We have the Summer video monitor but we're also going to purchase an AngelCare! Silly to have 2 monitors but it's for my peace of mind so I can't sleep too!!

  • Hmm....okay, knowing this I think I will just buy the angelcare, and if I am still having a tough time I will get a video one during a BRU sale or after I get some more coupons.  He loooves his crib, space to spread out. I feel guilty keeping him in the bassinet he like bounces off the sides!  Poor little guy. I just wanted to make sure I was getting the right monitor first!
  • We have the Angelcare and the Summer Video Monitor.  The nice thing is, you don't really need to carry around the Angelcare receiver in addition  to the Summer video one becasue you can hear the Angelcare monitor's "Tic" (indicating LO's movements) sound over the Summer video monitor and you could hear the alarm over it, too.
  • NICE! It will be great to show these posts to the hubs too, just so he doesn't think I'm crazy for getting two :)

Oh mine thought I was insane too, asking for the AngelCare when we already had the Summer!

  • The Angelcare is definitely the one to get first.  We were just anal since we decided to put her in her crib right off the bat.  With the pan and zoom monitor you could actually see her chest moving up and down so we felt good about that but the angel care really did put our mind to rest just know that when we weren't looking at the video monitor she was ok and still breathing.  After 2 months I am still happy we bought both.  We just stayed at my dads with the crib in our room and I felt weird not having the video monitor even though she was right next to us because I can just push a button in bed without getting up at home to see if she has busted out of her swaddle, there I got up several times just to make sure she was alright.  Like I said I think we are seriously anal but peace of mind is everything and whatever works!!

  • I have both the Summer Infant Complete Video Monitor and Baby Sense (a different type, but similar to Angelcare...it alerts you after 20 sec of no movement)....I LOVE having them both! Luckily I got both as baby shower gifts.

  • Our daughter has been sleeping in her crib since day 1. We have the Angelcare monitor and it is great. I am sleeping well knowing it will alert me (and her) if she stops breathing. We had a few false alarms (because she was so small she moved away from the sensor) which almost gave me a heart attack but it was great to see she was sound asleep. I don't think we'll need a video monitor in addition to the Angelcare.
