why woudl this be?

DD (4 months, 2 weeks) was a great nurser until the last week or so. Then, all of  sudden she is fussing everytime I try to nurse her (the majority of the feeding), takes herself off, is "tugging" on my nipple. This has resulted in sore, burning, blistery nipples. I'm not sure I can do it anymore but dont want to quit if it can easily be remedied....any ideas? I dont know what is wrong all of a sudden.

Could she have an ear infection?  If it is she could have pain when she nurses.  How is your let down also is how is your supply?  Are you eating extra spicey food if so that could change the taste.

did you check her mouth for thrush?

Could your supply be low? Otherwise, I assume it's just a phase and it will end eventually.

no change in diet.

checked her mouth but dont see any thrush--did have a yeast rash last week on diaper area.

how do I break the "tugging part" or increase my flow/supply if thats what it is?

When I had this problem with dd, I just took her off the breast. A lot of the time, I just noticed she was distracted or not really that hungry.

Not took her off completely. Just waited a half hour or so and tried again. good luck.

If she had a yeasty bum rash then I would worry about thrush.  That is how I found out we had thrush and it took for ever to get rid of it.  To up your supply you could add pumping sessions and you can take fenugreek(sp)

pumping destroys my nipples even before the recent problems....the thought of pumping tomorrow at work seriously makes me want to cry?!!?
