?? about gymboree sizing

I'm not an avid Gymbo shopper so I don't know their sizing, but I bought dd's halloween costume from there.  DD will be 12 months on Nov 5 so basically she'll be 1 on Halloween. I bought the 6 - 12 mos, but I think it might be too small. It should fit her according to their size charts.  It's the pumpkin and it velcros around her neck. She freaked out when I put it on her. I'm wondering if I should exchange it for the 12 - 18 month or keep the one I have.  Anyone know if their sizes run small or if dd just needs to get used to it?

They usually run big!

 I have found they run true to size for my dd. Vs. Carters which is HUGE on her. At one though, from Gymbo, I'd have gotten her the 12-18.

If it's tight now, I'd exchange it.  Halloween's still almost 2 months away, and she's only going to grow.  In general, I think their stuff runs big but I've never gotten a Halloween costume there.

I don't know if it's too tight or if she just doesn't like it. DS hated his 1st costume too. I'd hate to exchange it only to find the 12 - 18 is too big. Thanks for the input everyone!!
