Trix Yogurt

My MIL watches DS during the day when we're working - she knows I like to give him yogurt so she was being helpful and picked up a pack of TRIX Yogurt for her house for the week...

How horrible is it for DS to eat?? (sugar wise etc???)

Re: Trix Yogurt

  • I think Trix yogurt is pretty high in sugar. I personally wouldn't give them to DS at this point.

  • It has 14g of sugar per serving (which is the same as yoplait light yogurt fyi). I just checked out the Horizon yogurt I give DD and it has 10g per serving.
  • I personally wouldn't give it to my DD. Too much sugar.

Also, the ingredients list? I found artificial flavoring, high fructose corn syrup, and a few other undesirable ingredients.

  • This may be a little too much TMI, but I didn't know anything about Trix Yogurt and thought I would just try it with DD.  Well,  lets just say that her poopy diapers were very odd colored after eating it because of the food coloring in it.

  • Ds once had Trix yogurt and then had neon poop the next day. He thought it was cool and still talks about it, LOL.

As for the yogurt itself- eh, I wouldn't buy it for home. But if it was offered to them at a friend's house or occasionally at the grandparents I'd let them have it. Now, if it's going to be a daily thing at the grandparents I would probably have an issue with it, but as an a rare treat I'd just look the other way.

thanks -- she picked it up to be part of his daily lunch - so i'll just ask her that after this pack is finished not to buy it anymore. she tries to "help out" and pick up food so we don't have to pack it daily - so I don't want to be too demanding, but if its that much more sugary I will be.
