If one DC is sick...

Do you try and keep the other from getting sick (isolate/distance the two, keep toys separate, eto) or do you just continue life as usual and figure if the 2nd is going to get sick, they will and might as well build immunity to the bug at the same general time?  Oh, and I'm talking about basic colds and the like, nothing crazy.  Thanks!

Re: If one DC is sick...

  • For us it would be too hard to keep them seperated during the day since I am a SAHM and there are 2 of them and just 1 of me.  But I would def. keep them not on top of one another and try my best to keep some toys seperated.

Thankfully we haven't had to deal with this yet.

  • We have no luck with that here. No matter what I do the others normally get sick. We just had colds. One DD got it worse then the other two.
  • Loading the player...
  • If one has it, the quicker the other gets it the better. I don't see how you could keep them separated enough for them NOT to catch a cold...
  • we haven't had to deal with it yet- but there's no way i can keep all 3 of my kids separate.

I'll try to keep pacis, spoons, bottles/cups separate (i try to do that already so it's not so hard if one gets sick) but other than that- they'll get each other's funk eventuallyl i figure... esp since they will all go to daycare.

  • I've given up.  The closer together they have it.  The better it is for me.
