I know we have some time, but since planning anything around the holiday season is a royal pain in the rear end, we (meaning me) are starting early. We just picked a date, but now we need a place to hold it. Our house is not large enough to hold a number of people, for a warm weathered party we would be just fine, but middle of winter is not going to work. Do you have an ideas in the Lees Summit area where we could hold a first birthday party? I am thinking of doing a lunch time early afternoon thing and serving lunch since have so many people would would be traveling. Thanks for any tips.
I don't have any real suggestions for your area but I know the Gladstone and Liberty community centers can be rented out for parties (including the pool area). Is there somewhere like that in LS?
We have a few centers through the parks and rec that can be rented, but for a Saturday event we would need to rent out the whole space unless it is within 60 days and not yet rented. I need to have something more set in stone for my own sanity before then.
My first thought was Paradise Park on Colbern Rd, but it looks like their b-day parties are for 3+ yrs old. What about a separate room at a restaurant? I know Waldo Pizza on Douglas has one.
Re: Where to hold first birthday?
I have no idea how nice these places are but I found these online:

Benjamin Ranch, it's a event space/cowboy theme party area/pumpkin patch.
Here's the website, I guess it's changed names to Faulkner's Ranch, my bad.
