How does Gripe Water work?

We read the directions, but it doesn't say when to give to baby, or how long until we can expect results... He has been having difficulty with gas for a few days and we're hoping to help him out ... If you use gripe water, please let me know best practices!

 TIA!

Re: How does Gripe Water work?

  • I don't have an answer because I wanted to post a question about this.  Thanks for doing it for me =)  I am curious to see how people like it and if it actually works.

  • we used it once when J was having a massive crying fit and it didnt do anything to help-but hard to tell what was really wrong with him and if it even was his tummy...

  • We use gripe water all the time.  It works like a charm.  We give it when it seems his tummy is bugging him, usually if his cry sounds a little more screamy or in pain.  It makes him feel better right away.  I have a dropper and I just slowing squirt it into the corner of his mouth.  My sister will dip her daughter's soother in it and that seems to work too. I am not sure the dosage, but it should say on the bottle. DS seems to have a sensitive tummy and I will sometimes give it to him after his bedtime feed, even if he is not crying.  Hope that helps and I hope it works for you.
