DD finally pooped in the potty.

DD was pee trained in 3 days back in April just after she turned 3.  She absolutely refused to poop and had never gone a single time.  We were putting pull-ups on her for naps because she still needed them for a while so she would just wait for the pull-up then go right after she woke up.  Well, a week or two ago, she started waking up from naps dry so no more pull-ups.  Last week, she went in her pants a couple of times.  Finally today, I gave her prune juice (which she loves) instead of apple juice.  I made her sit on the potty every so often.

Success!  DH and I couldn't believe it.  She was so proud of herself.  I took her to Target to pick out whatever toy she wanted and all she wanted was a $2.50 ball.  Fine by me!  ;-)  Hopefully, this isn't a one time deal.  I'd hate to have to wait another 5 months for more progress.

Re: DD finally pooped in the potty.

  • YAY!  I completely understand the excitement.

We have been PT'ing DS this weekend and it was such an accomplishment for him to go poop on the potty.

  • Girl I understand your excitement!  DD was pee-pee trained at 2.5, but didn't poop on the potty until she was a couple weeks shy of 4.  For her, it was a control issue - she didn't EVER want to go.  But now she is telling me when she needs to go and pooping in the toilet.  I never thought I think the sight of little turds in the toilet would make me so happy - but they do.  I hope your DD keeps it up, for everyone's sake. :)
