I just pureed peaches yesterday. To make it easy to peel them, score a couple lines in the bottom of them, put them in boiling water for 1 minute and then take them out(dont put them in ice water like with tomatos). I just chopped them up raw and put them in the food processor. They came out great and DD loves them!!!
I cooked them. I cut an X in the bottom of the peach and put them with the X side down in about an inch of water. I covered the pan and simmered. I really don't know how long they cooked - I just went about doing other things and came to check on them from time to time. I took them out when they were very soft. The skins came off and I was able to just mash up the pulp. Like Budda!! They smelled soooooooooo good (like peach pie) it was VERY hard not to eat them myself! DS LOVES them!
I baked my peaches this afternoon. I cut them in half, took out the pit, baked in an inch of water for 20 min. Then peeled off skins with a peeler and tossed in the blender. I can't believe how easily they pureed!

All foods except banana and avocado are supposed to be cooked before pureed until babies are 8 months old. It helps them be able to digest them better.

Guess I'm in the minority here. I just peel and puree my peaches, plums, pears (if soft enough), nectarines, apricots - haven't had a problem yet, and LO loves them.
Re: do you puree raw peaches or cook them first?
Ditto!
this is how I make them
Yep.
