I just ordered a few plain white long-sleeved knit dresses for dd. I also ordered several pairs of leggings to wear underneath them this fall/winter. I plan on dying them and then using either embroidery or applique to decorate them a little for dd.
Any good ideas for dress/legging color combos or thoughts on what would look cute on them? I really like earth tones but also don't mind pinks, purples, etc. I do NOT like tie-dye. I did not dye/applique this particular dress, but here's an example of what someone else has done with the same plain white dress:
Any other cute ideas?
Re: What would be cute on this dress?
Cute. Your DD is getting SO big! How old is she now?
I know my DD would prefer pink/purple and flowers, butterflies, Elmo (DD2), princesses, etc.

Just be careful with the sizing- lots of their stuff tends to run small, IMO. I placed a really small order just now and I'll order a few more dresses once I see how they run size-wise.
I also bought the dye from there, the iDye. I've had some friends who have used it and they all say it's really easy to use when you just want to dye a couple of things at a time. They also claim that it really does not screw up your washer (although luckily, I have two washing machines.)
So I'm going to give it a shot- dye some pants, t-shirts, onesies and dresses in different colors then try my hand at some embroidery, applique, iron-on transfers and some other techniques to make them cute.
Ooh, yes! Owls are PERFECT!
I'm also thinking maybe one with an acorn, or maybe a squirrel w/an acorn.
Or, some kind of fern. I'm in love with this dress but it's too pricey for me, maybe I can do something in green and do a simple fern embroidery on it instead.
I'm totally into the nature scenes right now.
