Facing Forward in Bjorn

At what age/weight/developmental milestone did you start to allow LO to ride facing forward in the Bjorn?  LO is 10 weeks tomorrow and does fairly well holding his head up (with some support) when riding facing me.  We are going to the beach at the end the month and I am wondering if LO will be ready to try facing forward when we go for walks.

Re: Facing Forward in Bjorn

  • It has instructions on when it is ok.  But until he can sit unassisted with his head up, I say no.

  • It was around 3 months for us, we just paid attention to head control and whether he seemed comfortable and liked it that way. Not sure if EAN means "sit unassisted" in the Bjorn or in general... I definitely don't think they need to be able to sit to go face forward in it.

  • It was about 3 months and a week that I started carrying DD foward facing. She loves it. She gets to look around when she is forward facing. It is great to do grocery shopping with.
  • DS isn't even 2 months yet and faces forward in the Bjorn, and has been for a few weeks now.  He won't face the other way, he's too nosy....he has awesome head control though.
