How is that working for you? I'm thinking of eliminating pumping at work due to stress.. it would help to have that hour back in my work day (I pump 2xs for 30 mins each session).
I don't want to totally stop BFing yet but I am thinking if I nurse him/or pump morning and night he will still get some BM through the flu season. I have a pretty good size freezer stash too so I can do half and half bottles for a while with that for daycare until that is gone.
Thanks!
Re: those that BF AM and PM only...
I did that with my DD towards the end (after she turned 1 I stopped pumping at work) I loved it. By then I was so over pumping. My supply maintained the 2x a day feeding fine, and I only weaned out of choice once flu season was over that spring.
If it helps you I say go for it. Could you cut down to one session at work for awhile to see if that helps stretch your freezer stash too? You'll have to cut down gradually anyway, so maybe try that for a couple weeks and see if that helps.
I started doing this when I went back to work at 3 months. DS is now just over 7 months and I just last week noticed that he isn't really getting much when he nurses...so I'm thinking about weaning. But for the last 4 months its gone really well and I'm happy I did it - I knew it would be too stressful for me to pump at work and I'm glad I was able to continue BF for this long.
Its been with the onset of AF and a 1wk business trip (pumping) that my 2x day supply seems to have taken a dive.
