I have scarring on my cervix that made the HSG torture. IUIs use a thinner catheter and I never had issues. Good luck!
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

It's just really uncomfortable. I was expecting a PAP smear type of procedure and it was a long (10 mins) torturous procedure in which I squeezed DH's hands very hard. The up side--hoping it would work. Good luck to you!
Oh and a trick my doctor told me to do. Do not empty your bladder before the IUI, it helps the cervix cooperate a bit more then when you have a empty bladder. THe nurse will suggest you empty it, but I just told her I was all set.
You do not have to drink 10 glasses of water before hand, just what you would normally drink in the morning. So do not go in there feeling you are going to bust open any second, just normal amounts of liquid.

not at all! it really helps that your cervix is naturally opened during this time in your cycle (not usually the case when they are timing the HSG). good luck!
Brought to you by IVF, ICSI, limited fert, and oocyte cryopreservation. Because we're fancy like that.

I didn't have any pain, just a little cramping afterwards, which I have been told is normal.
Mine was uncomfortable but not painful. Definitely more like a pap and not as invasive as the HSG.
Good luck!

I had a painful HSG too so I was worried about the IUI as well. It was fine. I felt some very minor cramping, but that was it.
