  • I can't say as I've had any pee cup issues. I nail it everytime. My problem is they always take so long to call me back to pee in the cup that by then my eyes are floating and I'm near jaundice. If they needed two cups of pee I could hook them up.

  • I've peed on my hand. Twice.
  • Me!! I feel silly that I can't seem to pee in the cup. I always feel like I have to pee so bad and then I go and its next to nothing... which doesn't help when you lack aim.

  • I pee on my hand nearly every time. I pee every 5 minutes, so I don't have a problem with coming up with the sample... It's just getting it into the cup that is a struggle.

My favorite PIAC story is my friend who struggled peeing in the cup, finally did, and then set it on the floor. She then kicked it over. Hahaha... Now that is a major FAIL.?

  • Um me!! I'm pretty sure the nurse thinks I'm some sort of "special" for not being able to get this under control.

Glad it's not just me. :)

  • I ALWAYS miss the cup. Then I am stuck trying to squeeze out enough for a sample after i figure out where my stream is going. It def sucks.
  • At my Dr's office you just go as soon as you get there, but they don't always come in and take the cups right away. The cups go on a shelf of this little shelf and there have been so many times that there isn't room for mine so I have to push the other pee cups over to make room for mine. Now that is gross!!

  • They actually only need less than an ounce.  At a normal appointment they only really need like 3 drops and at an appointment where they run more tests than the normal one, they need like 15 drops. So you are fine.  I know what you mean though, it seems like I have to pee so bad until I step through that dr's office bathroom door.  Then its like I cannot go pee to save my life! lol
  • Yep!  I had a dr. appt this morning and as I'm TRYING to pee in the itty-bitty cup they give me I realized I had forgotten how hard it can be.  *sigh*  And, I also realize...it's not going to get any easier any time soon!
  • yeah I get excited if I have a "straight stream"  It's my lucky day.
  • I can't say that I have any problems peeing in the cup...actually I think I will start to call myself a pro.
  • you ladies make me laugh!  I was just thinking this morning, while trying unsuccessfully to aim in that stupid cup, how much easier men have it in this department.  My OB's office just has you write your name on a cup and leave it on the counter near the sink.  It makes me want to never touch that counter.  I do the courteous thing and wipe all the "missed attempts" off the outside of the cup, but I can't  be sure that everyone else does the same thing!
  • Hmm I use to have trouble, until I figured out that you don't have to decipher where to aim. You know where you pee out of right? Just put the cup right up to that hole and pee. I've not missed once since I started doing this.

  • Just put the cup right on your skin/hair, there won't be any place for the pee to go but in the cup.

This is what I do...you don't really have to aim at all.  Now my problem is that I never have to "go" when I'm in the Dr's office, but I go every hour when I'm not there.

  • haha!!! I have issues too and one of the first things I thought when I found out I am having a boy was "thank God, it will be so much easier to get a urine sample out of him at least!"  HA!

I giggled the whole way through this thread (sorry, immature like that...)

This is my trick and omg did it take me WAY TOO LONG to figure it out...*slightly embarrassed*

btw, after not being able to even give a sample at 2 appts (in a row!!) I held it in for about a half hr before even going to the drs office a couple appts ago and by the time I got there I had to ASK if I could do the pee in a cup part right away because there was no way I could've waited in the lounge for another 10mins before that, then get my weight and bp....Thankfully I now can go on command (and via sneezes somedays *yuck*) so I can almost always produce their sample since they only need a small amt...

  • Your aim will only get worse.  Towards the end with DS, I was joking with my doc that I needed to bring one of those HUGE car funnels from Auto Zone.

Yep.. this is what I do.  I'm not one of those tiny labia type girls so my stream doesn't always go in one direction.. so I just use this method and there's nowhere else for the pee to go but in the cup..

Now, don't ask me if I'll be able to reach around the belly to do this toward the 9 month mark....
