For the dads and grandpas, could you do just greenery? And for the moms, skip the bouquet (who wants to hold them?!) and do a much smaller, simpler corsage. Just my .02!

I asked around, none of them really wanted corsages (I don't even like them). Oh and I needed flowers for the cake.
Considering a local florist quoted me around $900 (assembled and all) I think it's better but, still....it makes me want to puke.
I got our flowers at Costco. They were GORGEOUS. For $749 we got:
1 Bridal bouquet
1 Maid of Honor bouquet
4 Brides Maid bouquets
1 Toss Away bouquet
2 Mothers petite hand-tie
12 Corsages
12 Attendant boutonnieres
6 Centerpieces (vases not included)
10 Rose Petal buds
and they were all wrapped with ribbon. We used one of the Bridesmaids bouquets for the cake flowers. They were stunning. They have different packages too but you have to order them online. OH and you can get 2 dozen roses for $15.99 there and they are also very beautiful. I love Costco!!!!

Do you have local flower growers? My friend went to Pike's Place in Seattle and got all her flowers for her parent's 40th anniversary for $125. She had 11 centerpieces and on huge one plus something simple for her mom and dad. She just went straight to the source and got the best deal.

can you "lower" your flower choices? that's a lot of roses... may not really even look the way you want it... you need some fillers that would cost less and save you some $$$... we did no bouts for groomsmen and fathers, they had hankercheifs they got w/ their tuxes. We did a tiny bout for the 2 grandfathers and mini corsages for the grams with their favorite flowers (which were cheaper than our wedding flowers). so that is an option too.
I agree w/ CG though, you might find more help on the knot from ppl who are going thru it right now...

You could do a very simple little "tussy mussy" bouquets for the moms and then corsages for the grandmothers. That is what we did. I think the minature moms bouquets maybe had 3 miniature roses in them and just greenery. It wasn't too expensive.

For my wedding I needed to provide boutinieres for everyone in my family. Aunts, uncles, cousins. It's part of my culture. We bought flowers from costcos and wrapped them ourselves. They came out better than the boutinieres from the florist. I also did a tussy mussy for my mom. Could you get flowers from a local place and do it yourself, wrapped in ribbon?
You don't "need" flowers for any of those people. You chose to provide them, the came on here whining about it.
Correct. I don't "need" any damn thing. I want it.
I wasn't whining. I am simply shocked at the cost of flowers, actually it obviously killed me. If I were to whine it would be like "ooooooooooooooh my gawd, wtf am I going to do help me, wah wah wah"
If it's such an idiotic post, why the hell did you open it? So you could be a biitch? And then you had to comment? Must have not been too idiotic, no?

Hey, don't get mad at me for pointing out the facts. You said you didn't realize you "need" all those flowers.
The title of the post is, indeed, idiotic and designed for attention-getting purposes. You succeeded in getting my attention, and now you're upset and calling me names because you don't like what I had to say. Soooo sorry the whole world doesn't bow down to kiss your feet.
Re: I just died. Died. Dead.
You should just have the judge tie the knot.
Maybe if you were posting this on the Knot - where it probably belongs - someone would have thought of that for you.
Just Sayin'.
We are doing small bouquets for them. It's traditional.
12 bouquets and 11 bouts.
I didn't pay that much for all of the flowers in my wedding.
Holy Cow!
Holy crap that's a lot of flowers!
