Sanitizing toys?

How do you do it?  My mom just brought a bunch of nice (plastic) toys over that she got from a yard sale. I want to sanitize them, but not sure what's the best way to do so...how do you do it? TIA

Re: Sanitizing toys?

  • I usually use Clorox wipes, but... according to the commercial, you can use bleach. I think it was like 1 cup of bleach per gallon of water (obviously check online first), and let them soak in the sink, rinse, dry and you are good to go.

  • I usually use a mr clean type eraser to get all the scuffs and marks off first.  rinse them off and then really clean/disenfect with alcohol.  I'm kinda scared to use bleach.

Do you rinse after you use the wipes or just let them dry?

I let them dry first, then will usually rinse or wipe with a wet washcloth before I give it to him just to be safe. The wipes say the item needs to remain wet for a little bit to kill everything so that's why I let them air dry.. then wipe again.
