If you are PTing or have completed PTing I could use your help

I have been PTing DD for a few weeks now and everything's going great! She doesn't even tell me she has to pee-pee anymore--she just goes on her own and that's super cool.

BUT, the pooping on the potty? ?Rarely happens and she's been having "misses" in her panties or pull ups. ?Since Friday she's been having diarrhea and I can't help but think that her inability/unwillingness to poop on the potty may have contributed to her being sick. ?Has anyone else's DC had diarrhea while PTing? ?Looking for any similar stories to make comparisons and draw conclusions. ?Appreciate the help, ladies! ?Thanks!?

  • DD is great at being urine trained.  She figured that out rather quickly, but pooping on the potty is super tramatic for her and she still hasn't pooped yet without it being accidental.  We tried purchasing toys/incentives for her, giving her stickers....but she's deathly afraid of pooping in the toilet.  She will poop in her pull-up/underwear during nap and at night..when she is most relaxed.  At this point I'm not stressing about it because according to her doctor, it is common for kids to be completely freaked out about pooping.  Something about the feeling they are losing part of themselves.  As far as diarrhea....sometimes her bowels are looser and sometimes not, but that's usually based on what she's eaten not really anything directly related to PTing.  Just keep plugging away...eventually she will get it (at least that's what I keep telling myself...lol).

  • Interesting you mention this, bc when we were PT, DS had diarrhea too.  It took me awhile to make the connection, but he was never sick.  I still dont know if it was stress, or what but we had a LOT of poop accidents before he was regular again.  Sadly, I dont have any advice bc DS was regular again after about 1 1/2 weeks and I didnt do anything to change it he just got it I guess and has been pooping on the potty perfectly every since.
