I am TTC for #2 and recently lost about 15 lbs. I exercise 4 times/week, interval training - 1 minute cardio/1 minute strength trainig for 30 minutes, using 5 and 10 lb weights. For my 1st pregnancy I wasn't so involved with exercising and ended up not doing it at all - and I also gained 45 lbs - something I don't want to do this time around! How can I modify my workout when I get my BFP? Should I use lighter weights or a different routine all together? I use a DVD which has 2 workouts, a lower body and upper body which I alternate.
This is definitely something to talk to your doctor about.
From what I understand, as long as your body is used to the exercise you should be able to continue to do it to an extent. Everybody is different though. Some people can run miles a day throughout most of their pregnancy and others aren't even allowed to walk the mall.
From what I hear, you really don't have to stop your workout routine. I may just keep it easy and make sure you don't get your heartrate above 120 *i think.
My doctor said my same exercise routine is okay as long as I don't overheat myself. My problem is I am too exhausted to even think about exercise by the time I get home from work. Hopefully I will get my energy back soon!

My dr said weights were fine, just not to increase them at all, but she only wants me to have my heart rate elevated for 30 minutes at a time. So I can do 30 minutes and rest then do 30 more, but I usually just do 30 minutes of cardio and lift a few times a week.
