MNO for charity, Save the Date

Lizzyjames and I are co-hosting a Moms Night Out on Saturday, October 3rd at 7:45 in Plano to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. (For those who don't know, we are both training for the San Antonio Marathon through Team in Training and are raising money for the LLS).

The evening will consist of a little mingling, a 90 minute wine tasting class, light appetizers, door prizes and goodie bags. Tickets are $40 each (tax deductible) and there are only 35 spots available.

We are working on creating a Facebook Fan Page and event and will put the link up on here as soon as possible with a link to the pay pal account to purchase tickets.  Just wanted to get the word out now. Hope you all can make it!

Re: MNO for charity, Save the Date

  • It's a great cause and I would love to be there to support y'all. My grandmother died of Leukemia when I was in 2nd grade and my cousin had Lymphoma several years ago. I'm so glad y'all are doing this.

    I will save the date.

  • Woohoo!  Date is saved. :)

  • Id love to get some info.  I will be there by then and Im sure I will need a glass of wine after that big a move :)
  • As you and Liz both know, this charity is very close to my heart......

    BTW, TODAY...

my Pops (my dad...but I call him "Pops"...have since HS....) had his 1 year  checkup since his stem-cell transplant (without going into detail, basically -  "bone-marrow transplant")

The appointment today included 6 vaccination shots (as his immunity was taken down to zero a year ago and is still rebuilding).  He's is in remission and his cardiologist (I meant oncologist.......sometimes I'm so retarded.  He's not had heart problems) lymphoma specialist at UCSF doesn't need to see him for 3 months!!!  Great news!!!!

Anyway.  I don't know if I can get another Saturday night off - don't want to be unfair to my managers.....but I'd love details.  Hopefully I can make it.  Maybe, work a 1/2 day at work and then go.  PM me please.

And bless you both for your efforts toward this charity.

  • Katherine, I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandmother and cousin. Alexis, that's GREAT news!! It's always so motivating to hear from people so personally affected by it.
  • Did someone say wine???? Of course I am in then :)

  • This is going to be similar to the gymboree thing for me.  We "may" have family in from oot that day, not sure yet.  I'm all about TNT (and wine) so I'd love to make it.  Hopefully I will.
  • I'm going to have to pass... that is our anniversary weekend so we'll probably be going out to dinner Saturday night and since I can't drink... a wine tasting class probably isn't the best MNO for me!  Good luck with the fundraising... hope you both surpass your goals and keep us up to date on other functions you plan!
  • I can't make the event as I have a wedding to attend that night. :( We have something pretty much every weekend between the last weekend or two of September all the way through October and then of course it will almost be time for the holidays and baby boy to arrive too, so we have some busy months ahead!
  • Dang it!  That is DS's 1st Birthday & the day of his party.  I would love to come but I doubt I will be up to it after the party.  Hope you ladies have a good time.

  • Sorry, the odds are just against me on this one, lol.  No wine tasting for me and it's ike's birthday party :o)

I agree.  The personal stories are such an inspiration.
