2nd Trimester

How many of you still wear..

heels and are around 20wks. I'm come from a Hispanic family and wearing heels to them is one of the worse things you can do while being pregnant. I asked my doctor if it was fine to wear heels and he said "why wouldn't you"lol but my grandma and my aunts literally made me take of my boots that had like the tiniest heel ever this weekend. I couldn't believe them, i only took them off so they could stop bugging me, do any of you ladies not wear them because of family member comments. I always see so many pregnant women wearing them and i don't see anything wrong with it if you're comfy, right?

Re: How many of you still wear..

  • I wear them. Most of my professional/work shoes are heels.

  • I wore them up until my last day of work (w/DD) which was 5 days before she was born.

  • I wear heals to work every week.  They aren't stiletto's but I don't wear those not pregnant.  But they are at least 1.5 iches.

  • I dont wear them everyday anymore but I still wear them every weekend for our date night and when we go to weddings and such. Probably twice a week. As long as I dont do too much walking in them they are perfectly fine.

I read somewhere that a 2 inch heel can actually be better for your back than a pair of flats.

  • My feet are so swollen and kill...there's no way I'm going to wear heels.  I normally wear ballerina flats, anyways.

Today, I wore khaki capris and vneck sweater into school.  You better believe that I wore tennis shoes with it! I would have never done that before, but I'm sick and my feet kill.

I am wearing heels this weekend to a wedding.  I'm hoping its cool so my feet aren't swollen and I can stuff them into the shoes I already have.

  • I wear them for work a few days a week. I asked my OB if I should stop at a certain point and she said that as long as I'm comfortable and not swelling too much, to go for it!
  • I wear them everyday for work.  I've started to notice that my feet are swollen by the end of the day in the high ones though

THIS I have a wedding to go to this weekend and yesterday when we were out shopping there were these really cute pair of heels, not high at all and my DH did not want to buy them for me because of all the comments that i had gotten earlier on in the day. I don't see what wrong it could do to the baby it's not like I'm a big clumps and I'm going to fall over, it's just so annoying. Sorry i had to vent.lol

  • I'm still wearing heels (like 28 weeks) - not daily but some days to work and when I've gone out and dressed up. And I for sure have plans to wear heels to a wedding in about a month :)

  • I wear heels every day, but I walk to and from work in flats and I sit most of the day.  If you are comfortable, the baby is fine.

  • I wear heels everyday to work.  I have noticed that by the end of the day my feet are sometimes swollen, depending on the shoes.  I plan on wearing them as long as I can though.  I'm too short without my heels! Cool
  • I still wear them when I know I'll be at my desk most of the day.  Some of my pants are just too long to wear with flats as I learned today.
  • I've been wearing wedges most days.  They actually do make my back feel better than flat, although they do push my belly out more when I stand!

  • I wore heels up until the day DD was born (she was born early and I had gone into work that morning. . .).  Most of the comments I got were around comfort/stability concerns.  If you're still comfortable wearing them, I'd say go for it.
  • I am about 19 weeks and I wear them.  I am pretty comfortable right now, so I don't see myself giving them up for a while.  We'll see.  I say if you feel comfortable and not off-balance, go for it.

I have a pair that is like 3-3.5 inches, but with big chunky heel.  I love those for work.  :)

  • My U/S tech got on my case about wearing wedges.  Whatever, my OB has said nothing about them, I'll keep wearing them for as long as I feel comfortable and safe doing so.  She may see many pg women (and has been pg with twins herself), but I know my body better than she does.
  • I still wear them but promised my DH that I would stop during 3tri tri.  The reason is because I am a total clutz and my DH is so worried I will fall.  On his side I did trip and hurt my foot.  I am going to miss my heels.  Crying
  • I am 23 weeks and i wear heels. they give me confidence and make me feel great about my look.
  • I'm not at 20 weeks yet, but I'm still wearing my heels. I plan on stopping once the weather gets bad (snow, ice). With my luck the ground will be clear when I go to work in the morning...then suddenly it will snow before I leave work and I'll end up slipping and falling w/my belly. I'd rather not take that chance.
