2nd Trimester

Feeling LO

So every time someone asks me if I have felt LO I just go NO and feel like it is way too early. It seems like I have been reading a lot of posts and a lot of first time moms have felt baby by 17 week which is just around the corner for me! I haven't felt any flutters or anything I wonder when that next chapter will begin.

  • I used to get annoyed when asked that question.

I didn't feel flutters until 19 weeks. It will happen soon!

  • I didn't feel anything until well over 18 weeks. Even now I've only felt a couple of light flutters. When people ask I usually say I'm not really feeling it yet because I have to be lying down and focusing to feel anything.
  • I felt little rumbles at 16 weeks, but I suppose it's different for everyone.  I was so anxious, but it will come!  Now I feel LO every day throughout the day and I love it!  DH felt him for the first time two nights ago.  Not too far away, it will come fast!
  • i didn't feel my first movement until almost 19wks.
  • With my first DS I didn't feel him until about 21 weeks. I had an anterior (sp) placenta so that (I think) caused it to take longer, but you're fine! Don't worry! People keep asking me the same thing this time, too. Only because I numbed myself to it with my first pregnancy am I OK with handling it.

People never seem to say "Have you felt the baby yet?" they always seem to say "So, are you feeling the baby all the time?" And you fele like an idiot for saying "No." Like something is wrong with you or something.....I feel your pain...mine was just 3 years ago! lol

Its pretty annoying my MIL seems to ask the most which I know she is just excited for my pregnancy to progress but for some reason I feel like oh no something is wrong with me

I really wonder if I have an anterior placenta because my midwife never found the heartbeat at my 12 week appointment she found me and said it was the baby (yeah we got rid of her LOL) My new dr found it at 15 weeks no problem and it wasn't until week 16 I could find it on my own. I even had my boss who is a nurse try and find it and she said all she could pick up was me. Guess I will find out at my big ultrasound in 2 weeks!

  • I got asked this all the time, and it got annoying! I have an anterior placenta, and I didn't feel anything until 20W5D. And what I felt were kicks. I didn't feel flutters until recently, and I think it is because he has moved to head down. But, I was really worried at 20W when I hadn't felt anything, then it happened (at 1:30am)! Don't worry though, it will happen, and you will love it!
  • Although I have heard when you have an anterior placena its always a challenge to find LO's heartbeat and after 15 weeks it was easy I can find it in seconds. SO, I must just be making excuses as to why I haven't felt LO move LOL
