random bloody nose - what to do?

DS had a bloody nose tonight out of no where. First one ever. He didn't fall or hit his face or anything that we know of.  DH thinks he picked it and made it bleed, but I think there was too much blood for that.  then later he was in a time out and screaming and it started gushing again.   We got it to stop both times and cleaned him up. Is this cause for concern?  I mean, I'm concerned...I'm freaked out!! but dh is not so much.  Anyone have any experience with this?  TIA.

It is probably just the change in weather.? DD gets this and it was always worse when she was anemic.? If you have no reason to suspect anemia, don't worry a bit.? I'm a crazy neurotic worrier and I've been assured by a few pedis that this is no biggie.?

For a bloody nose never tip the head back always tip it forward and pinch the top of the nose by the bridge to stop it. Run a humidifier in his room and see if that helps to keep his air passages a little moist. If it returns I would call the doc. GL
