TTC after 35

gymdogFran

Hi Fran, I saw your question in my post below:

"If you don't mind my asking, how was the protocol this time different from last?  I'm hoping for a much improved response on IVF #2 also.  (Sorry if you already posted it!)"

No, I dont mind you asking :)   My first IVF I did the traditional long lupron protocol.  I responded poorly and was almost cancelled.
This cycle I am doing the micro-dose-lupron (also called Flare) protocol.  This protocol takes advantage of the surge in FSH that you have early in your cycle and it also includes higher doses of meds.  I responded to this protocol much better.  My RE considers it a much more agressive protocol.

Good luck with your IVF #2!  Are you doing a different protocol???

Re: gymdogFran

  • Hi, thanks for answering!  Yes, I'm doing a different protocol this time.  It was actually the Flare that I did not respond to, even though it is the 'most aggressive.'  That's a bad sign, but I have read that some poor responders do best with "Estrogen Priming" or BCPs for suppression early.  I think this is what my RE is going to try.  I sure hope it works!
