My little brother (22) called me today to ask me some questions about my latex allergy, as he's pretty sure he's developing one, too.

I know the reason he called was to find out if that means he's also allergic to condoms. I know the answer to his question.

And I wouldn't give him the answer because he was too embarrassed to ask me directly.

Oh man, Bright, you are tough! LOL! I would answer his questions... he's 22, cut him some slack, big sister! I have a 20 yr old bro, 18 yr old sis, and 11 yr old sis as well. Look at the "Bright" side (okay, that was cheesy), I would be *happy* he was using condoms;)

The answers are on the Internet, too, so it's not like he can't find them if he looks. And he's going to the doc soon to get tested, so they'll tell him then, too. I did say, "There are non-latex versions of pretty much everything."

My lil bro calls me with similar questions all the time. "Sis, I have this lump on my tongue. I'll send you a text with a pic of it now." ICK!!!

I'm just glad he's coming to me for this crap, and not listening to his likely-ignorant friends.

My doctors almost killed me the other day. When i went for my ultrasound I told them before they started that I'm HIGHLY allergic to latex. well they put the thing over the wand and I always ask just to be sure and sure enough it was latex she forgot. my simple doctors visit would have turned to hospital vits. lol There is a huge list online of all the things that are no-no's but dont condoms say on the box LATEX? I have been allergic all my life so I dont know.

I go through this same thing EVERY TIME. You have to be soooo vigilant, it's annoying. It says all over my chart "no latex," I tell them verbally every single time, and more than half the time I catch them wearing latex gloves.
