2nd trip to L&D today, UGH!

i was in L&D over the weekend after my dr. sent me there because i was in a lot of pain. i was contracting and after they slowed down, sent me home with some meds to help stop them. they started back up today so i called my dr. and he said to go back to the hospital.

well, of course the contractions stopped when i got there and i only had 1 tiny one the 3 hours i was there. they did another test to see if i would be goiing into labor in the next 2 weeks, it was negative. but they did an internal exam and im now a fingertip dilated and 30% effaced. and then they sent me home and said i dont have to go on bedrest, but to just take it easy and i am just one of those women who contracts. im at risk for going early but not THAT early, apparently. i am so frustrated! no one knows why im contracting and they dont seem that concerned so i guess i shouldnt be, but i almost wish they would tell me to go on bedrest! it would suck but it would make me feel better about the situation! im going back to work tomorrow and just taking it easy. i just had to vent, i wish there were answers!!

    You're starting to dilate and efface @ 25 weeks and you're not on bedrest? That doesn't make any sense! I would ask your OB about that.

    maybe you should put yourself on bedrest. That is terrifying!!

    i did put myself on bedrest! im lying on my left side on the sofa. im going to work tomorrow but taking it really easy (im a teller at a drive-thru bank, so its not stressful at all and i mostly sit). im going to see how i feel after tomorrow and then call my dr. depending on it.

    Oh geez James, please stay in at least 12 more weeks!  I really hope your docs can figure out something.  Why risk having it?  That makes me angry!  I'm praying all is well with you!

    Wow suck!  Sending you sticky baby dust.  And maybe call your OB to make sure you shouldn't be on bedrest.  Hope you stop contracting!

    I understand completely what you are going through. I was sent to L&D at least 5 times after my 23 week with my first son.I was 2 cm dilated before 30 weeks ! My doctors did put me on bed rest.they even gave steroids shots to help mature his lungs. he was born at 34 weeks and weighed 4lbs and 12oz. thanks to god and all the special care i got he was very healthy.
