I don't know, but that looks like what R just had. Is it just on his face? She just got it on her face, then her neck and a little on her arms. No fever (at least that I noticed...) or any other symptoms. The rash lasted about a week and is now gone.
I think its roseola. DS had it a few weeks ago. Just a fever for a few days followed by this rash. By the time the rash came he felt fine. Rash lasted about a day.
But DS's rash was all over his trunk as well. Is E's only on his face?
that doesn't look like 5ths to me. Looks like a contact reaction or reaction to food. When DS had 5th his cheeks were just bright red, no bumps or splotches. He also had a lacey rash on his chest.
Re: PIP...what does this look like (E's cheeks)

Her spots were not raised or itchy at all.
Sore throat? Could it be scarlet fever?
I thought fifth disease was more of a solid patch, not spotted? Slapped-cheek appearance.

No scarlet fever's rash is MUCH finer & it would be on his chest a well.
His only other symptoms have been fever (from 101-103) and headache. The rash isn't on his body, just his cheeks.
He feels fine. I guess I won't worry about it!
It doesn't look like Fifth's - that's more of a big red spot.
Maybe coxsackie? (sp?) Or roseola, since you mentioned the fever.
